Presidential Dollars
By Doug West, Ph.D. www.investmentmetalsandcoins.com
February 2010
About This Price
Guide
This guide reports on the average eBay auction closing prices of President Dollars. All the auction results are from December of 2009 to February of 2010. The prices listed include the cost of shipping and handling. This is the total cost the buyer had to pay for the coins to be delivered to them. The dollar amounts in the “Price” column of all the tables are an average of three or more sales. All prices have been rounded to the nearest $0.25.
Presidential BU Dollar Rolls (without Certification)
There is not a significant difference between any of the prices for the 24 different BU Presidential Dollar rolls on eBay. The rolls contain $25.00 in face value. The average price per roll was $33.00. Some of the rolls have sold for as little as $29.50 and the maximum recorded was $40.00.
Certified Presidential Dollars
Table 1 lists the average auction prices for dollars that have been certified by one of the professional grading services. eBay only allows sellers to list PCGS, NGC, ICG, NCS, and ANACS graded coins as certified and use their numerical grade in the item description.

American Silver Eagle NGC MS69 eBay Auction Prices
Realized
By Doug West, Ph.D. www.investmentmetalsandcoins.com
December 2009
None of current Coin Price Guides list prices for the high grade certified American Silver Eagle Bullion coins. These coins are very popular and are bought and sold continuously over eBay and elsewhere. This price guide is to give current (as of December 2009) prices for NGC graded MS69 American Silver Eagle coins. Table 1 lists the average eBay auction price realized for NCG graded MS69 American Silver Eagle Coins. Figure 1 is a typical example of an American Silver Eagle graded by NGC in MS69 condition. The prices in the “Average Auction Price” column were taken from actual eBay auctions over the period of June to December of 2009. At least three auction results were used to form the average price. The average price has been rounded to the nearest dollar. During in the June to December 2009 period the price of
silver ranged from a low of $12.47 to a high of $19.18. The price of the high
grade American Silver Eagles is only loosely tied to the price of silver. The
demand for the professionally graded coins has been strong and as a result the
price of the coins isn’t as tightly correlated to the melt silver content as it
was a few years ago. Prices for PCGS, ANACS, and IGC grades coins are similar
to the NGC graded coins. PCGS graded coins carry a small premium (less than 5
percent) over the other three grading services. MS70 coins carry a substantial
premium over the MS69 coins. That is a topic for another price guide.
